Yesterday, I got some new woodcarving gouges and a chisel, tried them out, and got a cut on my thumb pad and my pointer knuckle, with two stitches each. I guess i need some more safety guideance!
Ow! If it's any consolation, this seems to be the week for sharp blades to be bloodthirsty. My son's new pocketknife "bit" him last night, taking a chunk of skin with it. He's in scouts, and sold $400 worth of popcorn to earn that knife. Then it goes and cuts him right off the bat. :-(
I wonder if there are any neighborhood woodworkers willing to share time, knowledge and resources? Hmmmm.
